  • Shamim consistently ranks at the top of Imperial College in Medicine – he has had significant academic success while at university.
  • As part of the renowned group “Muslim Medics”, Shamim taught 50 undergraduate medical students the entirety of metabolism, a key part of the course, and feedback revealed an outstanding satisfaction rate.
  • Shamim taught at the Imperial College Vision Conference and engaged in small group teaching and running mock interviews for students applying for medicine from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Being keen on academics, Shamim has attended several development courses and conferences including SORA events, such as “Future Academics in Healthcare” and “Breaking Barriers to Research”, and surgery events including “STARSurg” and “Trauma X”.
  • Being capable in graphic design and video editing, Shamim has significant ICT proficiency with a range of complex software.
  • Endeavouring to support the local community, Shamim formerly spent a large amount of time volunteering in elderly support with Age UK.

Aside from Work:

  • In his spare time, Shamim plays field hockey as part of the ICSMSU Men’s Hockey Club.
