Experience and Accolades:

  • In the past Louise has tutored science and maths at GCSE level, and has experience working at a primary school in her local area as a teaching assistant.
  • Louise previously worked for the AQA Examinations Board with her roles including troubleshooting the online results site and liaising with exam officers, teachers, parents and students.
  • Last year Louise worked on research in complex pharmacology concerning “DNA Origami” under the esteemed Dr Henderson, with the endeavour of exploring the potential of DNA nanostructures as an alternative to antibiotics in treating bacterial infections.
  • In secondary school, Louise earned 3 Gold UK Maths Challenge awards and a Silver Cambridge Chemistry Challenge award.
  • Pursuing her medical interests, Louise has undertaken work experience at Manchester’s National Aspergillosis Centra, at Willington and Halton Hospitals, and she volunteered for 1 year each at St Ann’s Hospice and Trafford Hospital.
  • Keen to support others, at Cambridge Louise worked as part of the College Access Scheme to support and help students without the resources to apply to Oxbridge to get to where they deserve – in line with this, she worked more generally in College Welfare.

Aside from Work:

  • Louise is a keen dancer; she enjoys ballroom and Latin dancing, and is a member of the Imperial College Dancesport Team.
  • Being an animal enthusiast, in particular being fond of cats, Louise volunteered in an animal sanctuary for over 3 years.
